CLIENT OVERVIEW
In a Crowded San Jose Market, Their Practice Was "Invisible" to Patients
The Glen Dental is a family and cosmetic practice on Willow Street in San Jose, right in the heart of Silicon Valley. They offer implants, veneers, dentures, crowns, and full restorative work. The clinical quality was never the issue.
The problem was that when someone in San Jose searched “dental implants near me,” The Glen Dental didn’t show up. Patients who needed exactly what this practice offers were finding competitors instead.
When patients search for “dental implants” on Google, the top 3 results get the vast majority of calls and clicks. If your practice isn’t in those top 3 spots, you’re invisible to the patients who are ready to book.
San Jose, CA, October 2025: The Glen Dental was visible to just 1 out of every 80 local searches
STARTING POINT
Search Performance
Where The Glen Dental stood across their most important keywords when the campaign started in October 2025.
DENTAL IMPLANTS – 823K MONTHLY SEARCHES
99 Out of 100 Nearby Patients Never Saw This Practice
“Dental Implants” is the single highest-volume procedure keyword in dentistry.
823,000 people search it every month. In October 2025, The Glen Dental appeared in
Google’s Top 3 for just 1.23% of the local San Jose area. Competitors were getting
every call.
Top-3 Coverage
1.23%
Visible to fewer than 1 in 80 nearby searchers
OCTOBER 2025
IMPACT ON THE PRACTICE
- The practice's highest-revenue procedure had zero visibility on Google
- Full mouth cases ($30K+ each) were going to competitors who ranked higher
- Every month without ranking meant patients choosing someone else
ORGANIC PATIENT PIPELINE
Google Search Was Sending Them Almost No Patients
Before the campaign, organic search was barely a factor in how patients found The
Glen Dental. The website existed, but it wasn’t ranking for the terms patients actually
use. Google was not sending traffic, which meant the practice was entirely dependent
on referrals and paid ads to fill the schedule.
Patients From Google Search
~0
Organic search was not a meaningful patient acquisition channel
OCTOBER 2025
IMPACT ON THE PRACTICE
- No steady flow of patients discovering the practice through Google
- Fully dependent on referrals and paid ads for new patient volume
- A major acquisition channel was sitting untapped
10 KEYWORDS TRACKED
A Full Range of Services, All Invisible on Google
The Glen Dental offers implants, full mouth restorations, dentures, veneers, crowns,
teeth whitening, and general dentistry. We tracked 10 keywords across all of these
services. In October 2025, coverage was at or near 1.23% for every single one. The
practice had the clinical capability to serve all of these patients. Google just wasn’t
connecting them.
KEYWORDS TRACKED – ALL AT ~1.23% TOP-3
All at 1.23% Top-3 coverage or below – October 2025
IMPACT ON THE PRACTICE
- Every procedure the practice offers was invisible to local searchers
- Patients searching for dentures, veneers, crowns were all finding competitors
- The opportunity was broad, but nothing was converting from search
THE STRATEGY
What We Did to Get The Glen Dental Showing Up on Google
Four coordinated steps designed to do one thing: make sure that when someone in San Jose searches for a dental procedure this practice offers, they find The Glen Dental.
DENTAL SEO
1. We Rebuilt Their Google Business Profile
This was a GBP-only campaign — no website work, no paid ads. We ran monthly geo-grid audits across the Murphy/Plano/Collin County service area for all three tracked implant keywords. Starting position for “Dental Implant” was rank 15.03 — outside the top 10 at nearly every grid point. From there, every decision was made around reclaiming that map. We selected primary and secondary GBP categories specifically for implant search intent, wrote a business description targeting “dental implant Murphy TX,” “implant dentist near me Plano,” and “full mouth dental implants,” and published a targeted post every single week for 26 straight months.
- Selected primary category "Dentist" and added secondary categories targeting implant, cosmetic, and restorative search intent specifically
- Wrote a 750-character business description targeting "dental implants San Jose," "dentures near me," and 8 other tracked terms without triggering keyword stuffing filters
- Published weekly GBP posts on a keyword rotation calendar: implants one week, dentures the next, cosmetic the following- keeping every tracked term active in Google's index
- Added geo-tagged service area pins to cover the Willow Street radius across San Jose neighborhoods with the weakest initial grid scores
- Built out Q&A with 15+ pre-seeded questions matching high-volume patient search queries so Google had structured content to surface in results
Result: Top-3 map pack coverage climbed from 1.23% to 54% for “dental implants” within five months of the rebuild going live.
REPUTATION
We Got More Patients Leaving Reviews
Google weights review recency heavily in local pack rankings, which means consistency matters more than total volume. A practice that gets 50 reviews in one month and nothing for six months after will decay. We built a system designed for continuous, procedure-specific review generation so the signal never went cold.
- Set up automated post-appointment review request sequences triggered by procedure type, so implant patients got implant-specific messaging and denture patients got denture-specific messaging
- Wrote owner reply templates with keyword and location signals embedded naturally (e.g. "Thank you for trusting us with your dental implants here in San Jose") so every response reinforced the ranking signals Google is reading
- Monitored review velocity weekly and tracked keyword mentions in review text to identify which procedures patients were organically naming in their reviews
- Flagged and reported reviews that violated Google's content policies to protect the profile's standing during the ranking climb
Result: A consistent flow of procedure-specific reviews throughout the campaign that compounded every
other ranking signal already in place.
WEBSITE
We Optimized Their Website for Google
A Google Business Profile and a website are not separate ranking systems-they reinforce each other. Google uses the website as a primary trust signal when deciding whether to show a practice in the map pack. Every technical and content change we made to theglendental.com was chosen to close the gap between what the site said and what Google needed to see for the tracked keywords.
- Rewrote title tags and H1s on every procedure page to target tracked keywords directly (e.g. "Dental Implants in San Jose, CA I The Glen Dental") rather than using generic or branded headings
- Added LocalBusiness and Dental schema markup in JSON-LD so Google can parse services, location, and hoursvprogrammatically without relying on body copy alone
- Built internal linking between procedure pages to create topical clusters, with the implant hub page linking out to full- mouth, All-on-4, and single implant pages so Google understood the depth of coverage
- Compressed images, deferred non-critical scripts, and resolved Core Web Vitals issues to bring page load time below 2.5 seconds-the threshold where bounce rate and ranking impact become measurable
- Created location-specific landing content targeting "dentist near me" and "dental clinic near me" for San Jose neighborhoods that the geo-grid audit had flagged as underserved
Result: 1,500 organic visitors from Google in Q1 2026 alone-a channel that barely existed before the
optimization work began.
